The Terrain Biennial is a grassroots public arts festival that brings artists and neighbors together to put public art on the front lawns (and stoops, porches, windows and rooftops, too) of neighborhoods across the world.

Floating in Between
How do we best be mindful of the environment in our art? Can we see beauty in unconventional materials? In this piece I’m exploring the use of my natural dyed fabric and recycled plastic. Plants from my garden and local community create my current pallet. The outer petals are created using botanical printed cloth and the inner petals are made from newspaper plastic bags. The flowers' base structure are solar lights, embellished with plastic leaves, that become illuminated at night. This piece encourages the viewer to reconsider what we throw away and how these materials can be repurposed.
